An Update Request and Change of Scenery...

Well, Alan asked me to update this, and since I FINALLY remembered my log-in information, that's possible! LOL Actually, I have been keeping an up-to-date journal... just not this one. I know I have barely any readers here, but still... I thought the heads up would be nice!

My new journal is http://ghosthuntercub.livejournal.com so anyone out there wanting to know what's been happening in the past months or so, feel free to read it! I actually need to add a few private posts on there too... some things were a little more involved than I wanted to post to the world. I'll have to figure out how to let my livejournal-less friends read it.... if that's even possible.

*sigh* I wish everyone I knew was only on one blog site. Life would be so much easier...

Every Day Is a Winding Road...

I never update this... if you haven't realized that by now, you're not ever reading it!

Well, life is a chaos of confusion for me most of the time. Single life isn't as easy to adjust to as I'd hoped. It's not that I can't handle being on my own, it's not knowing how to stop worrying about my ex. He has too many issues and problems, and I know he's heading for total self-destruction. It's sink or swim, but he never learned how to swim and can't get over his fear of water.

Love is the one thing I don't think will ever be understood by any one person in a lifetime. It's confusing, illogical, and downright unpredictable. Ending my last relationship was a wise decision, but still the pain remains. Of course, my friends think that to be insane because of all the hurt, stress, and grief it caused me. Still, I love him and miss him... the antichrist that he is.

So, I'm trying to get back to normal. Still. Putting on that happy face and trying to avoid the little reminders. I went for a walk the other day and stopped at the cemetery down the road for a little reflection. As I went to the trash can to throw out a paper, the past stared me back in the face. It was the can of soda he had thrown out when we were there months ago. Of course, this made me think of two things: "don't they ever dump out trash??" and "great... and I was in such a good mood". I can be a sappy person at times, and in some ways, I'm a slave to my past. Both the good memories and painful ones stay around, resurfacing out of the blue from time to time. Hopefully, I can lock up that trunk and throw it into the ocean.

I think getting back to a social life will help though. Being left to stew in your own thoughts for too long isn't healthy. I need to step outside and spend some time in the sun (which is next to impossible in Ohio... London has better weather). This too shall pass, and I'l be back to normal. Maybe then I can get back to my writing and working toward a future. A good slap in the face would definitely help!

Perpetually in Neutral

So, I'm terrible at keeping current with updates... what else is new??

My first book, Haunted Cuyahoga, is frozen at 8 sold copies. Ouch, that smarts a little. But in all fairness, I've been neglecting my duties setting up with distributors, so I'm to blame for this.. as per usual. There's just never enough time in the day, and my day job leaves me exhausted and frustrated so much of the time that I do in fact forget to try for my great escape.

In one week, my significant other and I will officially be celebrating 2 years together. Time flies when you're (attempting to but rarely succeeding in) having fun! I know many people are shocked... as am I... and it's still a constant battle. Anti-depressants for him would make life so much easier. Or is it just the fact that he's a Gemini?

I am excited though. No matter what happens, this spring is my chance at a much-needed vacation. I'm returning to London, since it's been 7 years, and hopefully starting on my goal of one vacation a year. I'm already gathering a list of cities I hope to get a chance to visit after this: Montreal, Sydney, Prague, Dublin, Bucharest (both Hungary and Romania), Cologne, etc. Money will be tight, but it'll be worth it. I need a little inspiration to get me back into the artistic mindset.

That's about all though. Nothing much happens. I've wanted to go out on another ghosthunt, but time hasn't been kind to me... and now the weather's getting downright horrid. So much to focus on, and no time or concentration to do it...

The Air Itself is Filled With Monsters

Ok, I know it's the day before Halloween and all, but there's something wrong.

I started out the day with a late start to work, which is relatively normal nowadays. A black cat crossed the road on the way in, but I'm not a very superstitious person. Still, upon arriving here, there's something odd in the air. It's almost as if there's a tension which is almost indescribeable... a heaviness in the air, as if something is about to happen... or already has. I don't think it's about work or anything similar. It just feels as if there's something truly wrong. Am I repeating myself? Definitely. But it's the only way to desbribe today... almost like standing on a bridge with a feeling of imminent doom or dread.

So far, my book hasn't been as much of a success as I was hoping. It's disappointing, but only time will tell if that will change. Nothing else much is happening odd in my life, just the normal everyday dull existence. Hopefully something positive will happen soon, but I'm still hoping for the best.

How American Are You?

You Are 32% American

America: You don't love it or want to leave it.

But you wouldn't mind giving it an extreme make over.

On the 4th of July, you'll fly a freak flag instead...

And give Uncle Sam a sucker punch!
